this is scintillating Ssatire as mehmood observes the ordinary aspects of mundane indian life from the perspective of the working classes -

neither patronising nor contemptuous it descends to the level of the people it studies to create art and cinema in a new light ,both darkly humourous and emotional yet acessible as it is neither sophisticated in technique nor pretentiously erudite as a script but it has a genuine passion for it's real characters and that scores full time .

MAJROOH SULTANPURI writes his great lyrical poetry with a cynical bite that is both comic and emotionally touching simulataneously and he is rifgh on the mark too.

I PREFER to watch these real shows of genuine living rather then the realistic versions of indian virtual reality captured in the typically pretentious looks at indian street life as in modern movies like the much touted MATURBHOOMI AND BRICK LANe,Totally unimagative and sardonic yet so artistically lame from dramatic and emotional perspectives -and what is the value of art which cannot evoke any emotion in your head or heart .
gotta see slumdog millionaire -it is being hailed as some kind of a great cult by some critics but i will have to see it first as i am skeptical of these paid critics , they can be very incorrect like in the case of the inappropriately hilarious brick lane and maturbhoomi too.

a special sequence from a superbly comic social satire-the clip has the 3 superstars with mehmood in the same frames consecutively .
amitab-dharam only made shole-cupke cupke- ram balram as partners and this very endearing movie albeit in special appearances .
the hema dharam sequence is hilarious and so spontaneous and shows dharams talent for the gifted comic hidden in this tough guy macho imaged actor.

mehmood of course outshines them all but then he is supposed to be the central figure of the synonymous title role -THE VIRGIN DADDY .

dharam hema here play themselves as they did in a few other movies in seventies as they were thought to be lucky mascots with their tremendous popular appeal and undeniable charisma -their mere presence could make a movie turn into a gold mine -un paralleled phenomenon in bollywood's history .

THE REJECTED ACCEPT THE OSTRACISED-mehmood directed this topical social satire about an infant discovered in a garbage heap,it turns out that the baby is going to be an example of all the best and worst facets of the indian character being domonstrated by the community which immediately goes into an uproar with the discovery of the anonymous infant .
mehmood plays the simpleton as a virgin ricshaw-driver who adopts the infant and thus the title -virgin daddy-this is one of his most well conceived and aptly played roles both as a comic and a dramatic actor and he suceeds in bringing the message home .

the song itself narrates a whole tale with the hermaphrodite hijras dressed in drag celebrating the birth of an illicit child .
THE UNWANTED ADORE THE OSTRACISED AND THE REJECTED THEMSELVES ADOPT THE EXCOMMUNICATED.

the movie has cameos by every major star who worked free to deliver a social statement to the common people .

THIS IS A MOVIE ABOUT THE MASSES MADE FOR THE MASSES AND DAMN THE CRITICS AND THE SNOBS FOR ONCE AS IT DAMN WELL DELIVERS DESPITE BEING CALLED CRUDE .

i realise everything about the boy in the song is true -this is the real world with real people and their tears and smiles are genuine too without artifice or any coquettry ,

mahmood uses this pretext to actually make a widely implicated satire on virtually every aspect of the social milieu where he tries to look beneath the flimsy covers into the dark abyss of hypocrisy.

the song here is a landmark sung as in tradition by hijras [eunuchs ]to celebrate a new birth and the community celebrates in a joy as is commonplace in india,the ambiance is of unison and all participate without discrimination and this represents an ancient custom.

whenever it comes to character and a genuine feeling for the real folk bollywood rushes to rafi and he accepts the challenge with open arms and fulfills every expectation exceeding the origonal concept in every detail -the rajesh roshan creation is translated to a magnificent melody in this greater resolve of the great artist in one of his most difficult and shining moments as he is called upon to sing with the RAW VOICES OF THE HIJRAS -A TOTALLY INNOVATIVE AND INGENIOUS FEAT WHICH IS ALBEIT FASCINATING IN EVERY FACT AND DETAIL ,bravo mr.rafi may you rest in peace eternally.amen

Nisha Verma lives with her wealthy father, Goyal; her aunt, Laila; Laila's husband, Ajit; and her cousin, Ranjit. Laila would like her to get married to Ranjit so that the wealth and the estate gets to remain in the family. But Nisha has fallen in love with a young man named Ramesh. When she introduces Ramesh to her dad, he does not approve of him, and warns Nisha not to see him again. A few days later, Nisha hears her father scream in the middle of the night, and rushes over to his room, bumps into Ramesh who was on his way out. She finds out that her father has been killed, the police are summoned, and Ramesh is arrested. At the trial in court, Ramesh pleads his innocence, but Nisha's testimony convicts him, with the sentence being the death penalty.
