"Island soldiers TANEGASHIMEN" is representative of "Local Super Heros" of Japan.
Local super heros exists in Japan since the 70's.
As for TANEGASHIMEN, started up activity in 1999, and they caused the "local super hero boom" in the Japanese whole country.
TANEGASHIMEN is managed by "Tanegashima Action Club" in Tanegashima-island of Kagoshima Prefecture.
They are invited to various events of Tanegashima-island and present the stage drama.
The contents of those stories is the one that the crime avengers defeats the bad men of course. However, the problems in the region that should be solved is included in them. TANEGASHIMEN appeal for the solution of those problems to the spectators while exchanging laughter.
They have wide appeal from children to adults in Tanegashima-island.
They do not receive the fee from spectators. Help has not been received from whom. They all bear necessary expenditure.
TANEGASHIMEN are really fighting for the hometown.

A TV station camera crew has captured a flying fish traveling through the air for 45 seconds, in what could be a new world record.The footage was taken on Monday, from a ferry near Kuchino-erabu island in Kagoshima prefecture, southwestern Japan.

The fish flew alongside a ferry that was traveling at roughly 30 kilometers per hour. The fish was able to continue flying by occasionally beating the surface of the water with itstail-fin when its flight height became low.

An expert says the flight time beats the previous record of 42 seconds reported by an American researcher in the 1920s. He says the flight of 45 seconds must be close to the fish's biological limit, as brachial respiration is impossible while flying in air.

Tanaka Isson's Resigence Historical Site

Tanaka Isson is one of the famous Japanese painters.
He was born in 1908 in Tochigi Prefecture near Tokyo.
He continued to paint what he saw of nature and life in Amami. Tanaka Isson died in 1977 at the age of 69 in this house.

Jumbo "Onibi-taki" Bonfire Festival is an event held in the Sanju-cho, Aira Town, Aira-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture in Japan every January.

This footage, shot by Dominick, features a window seat view while on board a bullet train (known as "Tsubamé Shinkansen") traveling from Kagoshima City, of Kagoshima prefecture, to Hakata, of Fukuoka prefecture. Notice the on-board news headlines at the end.

My friend Dominick features a bird's eye view of Sakura Island, looming ahead, one of the many iconic symbols of Kagoshima prefecture. It so happens to also be an active volcano, erupting sporadically and periodically, blanketing the streets of Kagoshima city with a thin layer of ash, referred to as "he" in the Kagoshima dialect.

The sun-observing Hinode satellite (formerly Solar-B) of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) was launched from the Uchinoura Space Center, Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan, on September 22, 2006 at 21:36 GMT, aboard the seventh in JAXA's series of M-V rockets. For two weeks the satellite carried out orbit adjustments, and is now in a sun-synchronous orbit, which allows it to observe the sun for uninterrupted periods lasting months at a time. Hinode contains three instruments dedicated to observing the sun: the Solar Optical Telescope (SOT), the X-Ray Telescope (XRT), and the EUV Imaging Spectrometer (EIS). Each of the instruments have now opened their protective doors and successfully commenced test observations.
